About Me!
Hi there :D I’m Kathryn and I’m a current senior studying computer science at MIT. I like to code, climb, run, play table tennis, read, listen to music, hang out with friends, cook, hike, travel and blog. I’m also an avid overthinker and constant self-improver. I enjoy having meaningful conversations that lead to existential crises and goofy conversations that lead to endless laughter. A small tidbit that would also describe me is when an acting coach I had back in middle school would scold me for constantly having a smile on my face. While you might find me smiling most of the time, I am also a deeply sentimental person who has cried the first time watching the (best!) movie, La La Land.
About this blog
Like I mentioned previously, I am an overthinker and reflective person. I would like to use this blog as a way to dump some of my thoughts on life to (1) get the thoughts out of my own head and (2) share those thoughts with other people. You will find me posting about random philosophical questions, life updates, and movie/book reviews.
Rationale
From other blogs I’ve read, I found it helpful when they add a rationale for why they are writing a blog. Writing my own rationale is also helpful for me to remind myself of my motivation and goals for writing.
Why not just journal to get your thoughts out of your head? Some of the best conversatons I’ve had with people have been on topics that I hope to write about in this blog. By blogging, I can increase the frequency of these conversations and track the evolution of my ideas as I have these conversations. Of course, for more personal thoughts, I will continue to use my personal journal.
Why not just keep your blog private to your friends? Why make it public? One of my goals is to share my thoughts with not only close friends but also people who would like to get to know me. My blog can be a way to reach people I haven’t met yet or people I haven’t developed a deep connection with yet.
